First, you want to subtract 6 on both sides
x/10 + 6 - 6 = 4 - 6
x/10 = -2
Sense this is division, you want to multiply to undo the division
10(x/10) = -2 x 10
X = -20
Hope this helps!!!

X/10 + 6 = 4
(Multiply 10 to each number to get rid of the fraction)
X/10 * 10 + 6 * 10 = 4 * 10
X + 60 = 40
(Subtract 60 from each side)
X + 60 = 40
X - 60 = - 60
(Simplify/ +60 -60 cancel each other )
X = -20
