Length = 2x+1

1/2 the permiter = l + w

1/2 perimeter = 176 /2 = 88
 so we have x + 2x+1 = 88

combine like terms:
3x +1 = 88

subtract 1 from both sides:
3x = 87
 divide both sides by 3
x = 87 / 3 = 29

with = 29 feet
 length = 29 x 2 = 58 +1 = 59 feet

check: 59 +59 +29+29 = 176
